Raise Your Hands In Prayer

91,10-1, SHOW  NOTES & COPYRIGHTS,  (Scheduled 2/16/2023)  Corrections 2/12/23

Today 2 poems that could have been part of last week podcast.  One about church and one about the Cornerstone.  And 2 more unpublished poems.

CHURCH IN THE SKY

The steps into the church

Leading to the Heavens

Once filled with believers

Looking beyond the day

All that was heard

Was a love song

God’s saving word

Forever long

Singing as God they praised

Overcoming all fears

Singing so many years

Through faith the roof was raised

Today walking through the open door

I look above to where eagles soar

And hear the praise of many voices

Celebrating their saving choices

The church was raised

As God was praised

Lifted through the sky

Faith the reason why

Discussion:

Cindy’s paintings inspired the poems Church in the Desert in God Still Rhymes and Wind River, an unpublished poem we read on a previous podcast.

CALM IN MY DAY

The constant motion,

Then the commotion

From dawn through evening,

Not ever leaving,

Ever testing my devotion

That leads me from my grieving.

In the smog covered hue

Of the morning sky

Another day may be new.

I again ask why.

Then the Lord said to me,

“Sit quietly and reflect

On what is and what you see.

As your thoughts you collect

There is more for you and Me.

As you pray I will protect.

It is not the color of the sky.

It is not the reason why.

If you need, take time to cry.

The days will still be young.

There are hymns to be sung

And church bells to be rung.

Remember my child,

Through your faith

And by My grace

You run the race

With your faith.

Know you are my child.”

Salvation has been won

Through Jesus, God’s Holy Son.

Now at the rising sun

My worry is done.

In this world I no longer live alone,

My life now built on the cornerstone.

Now as I live,

As I believe,

I do receive

What God does give.

Discusssion:

TRUST TO BE LEAD

In God I will trust

Not in my lust,

As thoughts are swirled

Around in this world

In which I live.

I will let God give

To me His all

As I hear His call.

From my eye remove this log

So I may see above the fog,

And at the end of night

I will have won the fight.

May I not judge

Nor hold a grudge.

I will forgive

As life I live.

May Your love I share.

May I be aware

Of other’s fears,

Shedding their tears.

As I walk,

As I talk,

May my foot prints be

Spoken words not of me,

But the words God has spoken,

Mending lives that are broken.

May I live

That I give

What I received

When I believed.

WE WILL

We will fight

In the light

For what is right,

Forever long,

Always strong,

Singing His song.

With God’s might,

Never wrong,

With tomorrow

Always in sight

Without sorrow,

We will be

For all to see,

A reflection

Of His protection.

Truth and justice will prevail,

God’s power will never fail.

AS WE CLOSE IN PRAYER, MAY WE CONTINUE IN PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father we come to you in prayer as we end today’s podcast.  Dave and I thank You for Your leading us through the day and into tomorrow.  We pray that those listening and watching the podcast will feel your presence in their lives.

We pray for our listeners and viewers; for their needs, healing and the salvation of those who have not yet accepted the gift of Your grace by faith.

We pray, Lord, for this world in which we live.  Father, as Christians lead us to proclaiming the gospel where ever we are.  May we do so in a loving  way.  Lead us to the truth of the days we are living in.  We pray for the nation of Ukraine and its people; its leaders, those who have fled the country to find safety, those who are still trying to leave the country and those who are staying to fight the invading army of their enemy.   May their faith and determination be an example to the entire world.

Dear Lord, prepare us and our listeners and viewers for the coming week.  We pray that it is You we live for and You who leads us.  As we walk with you  this week, may it be Your hand clasped around our hand so we may feel the grasp of Your love.

We pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer.

Amen
